REGULATIONS FOR INSIDE THE CHURCH FOR MASS

  • As of Monday, June 29th daily Mass will return to Sacred Heart Church at 8:30 a.m. Monday to Saturday. Sunday Mass will resume on Saturday, July 4th at 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 5th at 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
  • The left handicapped ramp door entrance of the Church will be the ONLY entrance available each day.
  • The Church has been completely and professionally sanitized and disinfected including sacristies, the main body of the church and pews, choir loft, vestibule, bathrooms and church basement. The Church will be cleaned after every Mass.
  • Anyone who feels sick in anyway must stay home.
  • 98 People will be allowed at each Mass.
  • Seating is by First-Come-First-Served for each Mass.
  • The Church Basement will be set up to allow for any overflow of parishioners that may come to attend Mass.
  • The Church will be marked off with red ropes and orange crosses on the seats of the pews where one may sit or kneel to pray.
  • People living in the same household may sit together.
  • Marked seats in the center of the pews must be occupied first, before the ends.
  • There are no Entrance, Offertory and Recessional Processions during the Mass.
  • The Collection will be taken by the ushers as usual, but only the Basket of Offerings will be placed in front of the Altar.
  • There will be no Sign of Peace.
  • Holy Communion will be distributed ONLY at the front of the Altar in two lines. Handicapped parishioners will receive at their seats.
  • All parishioners receiving Holy Communion must come up with a face covering and after stating “Amen”, pull down your mask, be given the Eucharist, step to the side, consume the Eucharist and pull up your mask before returning to your seat.
  • Holy Communion must be received in the hand, NOT on the tongue at this time.
  • When Mass is finished, the Church must be sanitized, therefore no one is allowed to remain in the Church for private prayer. The Church will be closed and locked temporarily so that it may be cleaned for the next Mass. The Church will reopen before the next Mass begins. Parishioners must wait in line, six feet apart, next to the Stations of the Cross outside the Sacred Heart Garden gate.
  • You may NOT enter the Church without a mask. Please bring one from home.
  • Hand sanitizer stands are available as you enter the Church. But you are encouraged to bring sanitizer from home.
  • Only ONE restroom will be available.
  • Lighting Candles will be allowed only BEFORE each Mass begins, but NO touching of the statues.
  • There will be NO Holy Water in the fonts.
  • Song Books will be removed from the pews and stored away.
  • Bulletins will NOT be distributed. They will continue to be uploaded to the parish website (www.sacredheartrccglendale.org).
  • DO NOT leave any holy cards or literature in the vestibule of the Church, and there are none available to take.
  • Brick Order Forms, 50/50 Envelopes or The Tablet will NOT be available. (To purchase a Brick, however, please contact the Rectory)
  • There are to be NO communal devotions in the Church (Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet and Stations of the Cross). Only private recitation.
  • The Sacred Heart Garden will be OPEN for private prayer. NO ONE IS ALLOWED ON THE GRASS
